Rub-a-dub-dub

I may be running out of ideas for Mac's monthly "photoshoot," but this one seems appropriate given the recent deluge of rain we are getting lately. Nine months and I want to pause time. This thought hit me when I noticed he had two little teeth poking through a couple of weeks ago. This thought was also reinforced recently while visiting a friend and her 4 week old baby girl. I was surprised at how long ago it has been since Mac was 4 weeks, his tiny, warm body nestled in the crook of my arm sleeping contently. As you can see below he is older than 4 weeks now.
We are amazed at how much he can do! He sits up on his own, tumbling over when he is wants to see or grab something behind him.

His fine motor skills have improved greatly! He picks small objects things up between his thumb and index finger, and everything goes in his mouth. Everything.
He still has a killer smile that melts my heart and is babbling more and more. Some of his favorite babblings are "nananana" and "ahhhhh!" I am working to get him to say "mama" every day; of course, his dad is working with him to say "daddy." We'll see which comes first.
Mac is grabs his sippy cup to drink and now crawls. Well, the crawling is more like doing the worm, but it gets him to where he wants to go within 5 feet or so. He also loves being around kids. Oh boy, does he love being around kids! He barely blinks as he watches small children with such intensity that he can't help but suddenly laugh or growl or squeal loudly as if to say, "this is so much fun!"
Oh, and that hair...it's still red!
