...and Happy New Year!

Whew! What a weekend full of friends, food, fun, food, canoing, food, playing music, food, catching up on reading, and food. Matt and I got the generous invitation to join Matt's best friend (Kyle)'s family at their lake house on Lake Cherokee to ring in the New Year. Although Sunday was a rainy, there was plenty of good times to be had.

PS. These were taken with the new camera.

Matt, Kyle, and I traveled by car the first day to check out Lake Jocassee.

Matt and Kyle hit Lake Cherokee with Uncle Bob's canoe before they got caught in the rain.
Scott and I were not that fortunate...
...but it sure was fun.

Wood Chopping

Axe(wo)men: Kyle, Matt, and Jamie

Success!
The "passing of the torch," if you will.
Look at that strong man.

And, that impressively, sophisticated, and attractive strong WHOA-man.

No beatles were harmed in this wood chopping session.
Some of nature we uncovered. If you look closely you'll see a beautiful picture of a "knight in shining armor" rescuing his damsel in distress...I guess you might of had to of been there to understand this anology.

Of course, no trip to the mountains would be complete without some guitar and fiddle playin'.

Playin' the fiddle requires lots of concentration...and a rockin' chair.

By the end of our first time playing together I had the notes "G" and "A" down on the violin. We came up with song called "The See-saw." If you have any questions as to what may of inspired such an unusual song title just play a "G" and an "A" over and over again on a violin and see if you don't picture a see-saw slowly going up and down.

Of course, when Kyle "played around" with the violin a pretty accurate randition of "Dancing Nancies" could be heard. Yes, I was a little envious.

Day 3 and not a cloud in the sky!

The Christopher's cabin on Lake Cherokee. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Happy New Year to you and your families!
