This is what Matt said when we returned yesterday from Matt’s Grandfather’s funeral to find our kitchen flooded by an over zealous toilet spraying water all over the place in our newly painted and tiled bathroom.
Frank Leakey, age 76 of Loganville, GA died January 30, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Fran Leakey; daughters and son-in-law, Nancy Franklin of Bethlehem, Janet and Jeff Ross of Conyers, Valerie Blalock of Grayson; son and daughter-in-law, David and Jan Leakey of Stone Mountain; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.Despite being stricken with polio at the age of 24, resulting in 95% paralysis, Frank went on to obtain his CPA certificate and worked in the Atlanta area for 30 years. He served as Comptroller of Emory University Clinic, was instrumental in establishing Doctors Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and served as Comptroller of Stone Mountain Park until his retirement in 1978. He spent his retirement years in Sarasota, FL, where he combined his talent as an artist and his love for the ocean by painting seascapes. He was a strong and determined man of faith and served on the financial committee of Grace Methodist Church in Atlanta and later was treasurer at Belvedere Methodist Church in Decatur. Currently he was a member of Snellville United Methodist Church.

Let me give you some background first. Matt’s Grandfather has been very ill and battling “post polio-syndrome” for some time now and passed away this past Tuesday (January, 30th). For those of you wondering (or not), yes, that was Matt’s 31st birthday.
After we we came home from the funeral on Friday afternoon we found a kiddie pool forming in our kitchen.
The good: The "produit finale"
playing around with the camera's aperture
Matt's Birthday flowers, curtesy of Publix.
Even our Christmas amarylis opened to celebrate.
The Bad: The flood of 2007
Macy, always the helpful kitty.
The Ugly: The paint in the bathroom bubbled after hours of being hosed down by our toilet.
This makes me wanna just cry...
P.S. The tile survived.

Hey--sorry to hear about everything...we had a "raining" weekend around here as well. Bentley stuffed a roll of toilet paper down the toilet and overflowed it--which in turn ruined a ceiling below. Lovely, just lovely!
